This is the craft! The building of something beautiful, something old; yet new. The building of something impactful that Conjures and heals. A magical space all our own.

Will you answer the call? Black Witch University wants your conjure, recipes, prose, poetry, and art that you think will be beneficial for the healing of trauma in our community. We use the word, "community" in the broadest, most Black Diasporic sense of the word. So yes, make it queer as fuck, make it

gender-full and genderless, make it vulnerable - but, whatever you do, just MAKE IT and send it in. The first journal will be published during the Earth’s dark season (that’s Winter Solstice) as a balm to get us all through the season until the light shines again.

Guidelines
Deadline: TBD

All submissions must be your own, unpublished work.

Email: bwugrimoire@gmail.com

Attention: "The People's Grimoire"

Visual Art:

Excellent Quality (300 dpi or higher) JPEG format. ALL SUBMISSIONS MUST adhere to the call for the healing of trauma within our communities.

Conjure/Recipes:

Is there any original Conjure, really? To that end, send in the whispers of your Grandmothers and Aunties, the DNA messages from your ancestors, the forewarnings of your kin. Map it out, spell it out, write it down and send it in. Format should be Arial, 12-point font. Single-spaced, unless it throws off the message/artistry that you are trying to get across. Make it healing, affirming, and full of love. Think -- 'medicine for those that are tired, weary and in need of a good word.'

Prose/Poetry:

Format should be Arial, 12 point font. Single-spaced, unless it throws off the message/artistry that you are trying to convey.

~May your Conjure be blessed!~
